Spreader Calibration Guide

Proper calibration ensures accurate material distribution and prevents waste or uneven coverage.

Follow this guide to adjust your SpinTech Multi-Spreader for optimal performance.

How to Adjust Your Multi-Spreader

Loosen the Motor Plate for Adjustment

  • Locate the four wingnuts securing the motor plate to the spreader hopper. (The motor plate is the adjustable platform at the bottom of the hopper where the 12V motor is mounted.)
  • Loosen all four wingnuts to allow the motor plate to move freely.

Raise or Lower the Motor Plate

  • Raising the motor plate decreases the opening size, reducing material flow.
  • Lowering the motor plate increases the opening size, allowing more material to pass through.
  • For finer materials (like small seeds or fertilizer), set a very small gap to prevent excessive loss.

Use the Dispensing Rate Chart

  • Refer to the Dispensing Rate Chart to determine the proper gap setting for your material type.
  • Smaller materials require a smaller gap to prevent over-dispersion.
  • Larger materials require a larger gap for proper flow.

Tighten and Test

  • Once the motor plate is set, tighten the four wingnuts securely.
  • Run a short test cycle to confirm proper material flow.
  • Adjust further if needed.

Calibration Tips for Different Materials

  • Seed & Fertilizer: Use the smallest gap setting to prevent waste.
  • Feed (Corn, Pellets, etc.): Use a medium gap setting for even coverage.
  • Salt & Ice Melt: Adjust based on granule size—smaller pellets require a narrower gap to prevent excessive loss.
